Materials Chemistry Division Schools Lecture: Your Solar-Powered Future.

5 February 2013, Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Introduction
This is a ChemNet event for students aged 16-18.
All of us are completely dependent upon massive amounts of energy to go about our daily lives. Have you ever wondered how we can sustain this without the damaging problems that arise from burning coal, oil and gas? How long will it take us to achieve a clean, sustainable energy supply? What are the barriers in our way and how are scientists tackling these? This interactive lecture with demonstrations will examine our options and present the inevitable rise of the sun as our main daily power source in the future.
