The lecture covers:
鈥� the composition of the Earth's atmosphere in comparison to other planets
鈥� a brief description of the structure of the atmosphere
鈥� investigation of some of the chemistry and properties of nitrogen and oxygen
鈥� a few of the tropospheric pollutants including carbon dioxide
Throughout the lecture there are demonstrations including those involving liquid nitrogen, oxygen foam, dry ice and a few noisy explosions.
The lecture is suitable for Chemistry students in Years 11鈥�13.
