UKPorMat meetings are organised by the Porous Materials Interest Group of theÅ·ÃÀAV(Å·ÃÀAV) and act as a focal point for researchers working across all aspects of porous materials, including synthesis and design, characterisation, applications, and modelling.

They span a broad range of materials, such as zeolites, Metal -organic Frameworks (MOFs), Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs), porous silicas, porous carbons, porous polymers, and porous organic cages.

The 2026 UKPorMat Early Career Researchers Conference marks the first iteration of a UKPorMat event dedicated exclusively to Early Career Researchers (ECRs).This new format is designed to showcase the work of PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and newly independent academics, while fostering a supportive environment for networking, collaboration, and career development within the UK porous materials community. By placing ECRs at the centre of the programme, the meeting aims to provide enhanced opportunities for oral presentations, discussion, and community building among emerging leaders in the field.

Registration for this event is free, helping to further support ECRs and ensure that cost is not a barrier to attendance and participation. The Conference will be held at the University of Liverpool, from 24th - 25th August 2026.

To stay up to date with conference details, we recommend joining the Å·ÃÀAV Porous Materials Interest Group, following the group's Bluesky feed (https://bsky.app/profile/rsc-pormat.bsky.social), and joining the LinkedIn group (https://www.linkedin.com/groups/8195923/)."
