The Radiochemistry Group is delighted to announce the 15th International Symposium on Nuclear and Environmental Radiochemical Analysis (ERA15) will be taking place at the University of Porstmouth on 7-10th September 2026.

The Nuclear and Environmental Radiochemical Analysis (ERA) conference series is the flagship international symposium hosted and organised by the Å·ÃÀAV Radiochemistry Group for scientists and professionals working across fields involving analytical chemistry, radiochemistry, nuclear medicine, environmental science and technology, and radioactive waste disposal.

The 2026 conference will be the 15th edition of ERA conference series, which has been held every four years since 1970. The event typically attracts around 130-140 attendees (including exhibitor attending staff) – comprising national and international delegates from both industry and academia. The conference especially strives to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for early career scientists and postgraduate students to present their work.

The subject matter presented at ERA spans environmental radiochemistry and radioecology, nuclear industry decommissioning, radiation detection and imaging, medical imaging, radioanalytical techniques and nuclear forensics.

Also included as part of the conference itinerary are networking opportunities, including an ice-breaker event on the first evening, a formal evening poster presentation, and a conference gala dinner which will be held on board HMS Warrior at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard (part of the National Museum of the Royal Navy).

Venue and accomodation information

The conference will be held in the Richmond Building at the University of Portsmouth. The university campus is located close to Portsmouth city centre and is close to an array of local hotels and facilities.

Accomodation is also available at the University of Portsmouth student halls. Single en-suite rooms are available on a bed and breakfast basis for £TBC per night, and can be booked directly by delegates through the University online store (link to be available soon).
