Interested in sustainable energy and the science behind it?
Join the Å·ÃÀAV Mid‑Southern Counties Local Section for an exclusive visit to the Ardley Energy Recovery Facility on Thursday 28th September, 13:00-15:30.
Since opening in 2014, Ardley ERF—located near Bicester, Oxfordshire—has played a major role in diverting non‑recyclable waste from landfill and transforming it into usable energy.
The event begins with an introduction to the facility’s advanced waste‑to‑energy technology and its commitment to environmental sustainability. You’ll discover how the site already generates enough electricity to power nearly 60,000 homes and plans to become carbon neutral.
After the briefing, we’ll lace up our steel toe-cap boots (you can borrow a pair on site if you haven’t brought your own) and head out on a guided tour of the power station to see the chemistry in action.
This event is free to attend, but attendees will need to make their own way to Ardley.
