Join us for a guided tour of “Being Human” – the permanent exhibition at the Wellcome Collection.
We are pleased to invite retired members and their guests to the Wellcome Collection at 183 Euston Road, NW1 2BE on Thursday 13 November at 11:30 for an 11:45 start. The tour will be unique to our group, written individually by a member of the Wellcome Visitor Experience team, who will lead us around the exhibition.
Being Human is Wellcome's permanent exhibition.
“Being Human” – What does it mean?
This exhibition explores trust, identity and health in a changing world. It explores what it means to be human in the 21st century. It reflects our hopes and fears about new forms of medical knowledge, and our changing relationships with ourselves, each other and the world. Featuring 50 artworks and objects, the gallery is divided into four sections: Genetics, Minds & Bodies, Infection, and Environmental Breakdown.
The tour will last about 30 minutes.
Within the Wellcome building, there are also other exhibitions, installations and displays, which you would be able to see in your own time after the tour.
For those requiring lunch, there is a café in the Wellcome building and there are also many cafes, restaurants and pubs in the nearby area.
To attend, please register by 08 November by e-mailing secretaryrsccm@gmail.com. There is a registration fee of £5 per head. Details for payment of the fee will be provided after registration.
The tour is limited to a maximum of 20 people, so tickets will be allocated on a “first come, first serve” basis. If applications exceed 20, there will be a reserve list and we will notify members as tickets become available.
To enjoy the visit to the Wellcome Collection and in particular the guided tour, please RSVP by emailing secretaryrsccm@gmail.com, including any guests you wish to join you by Thursday 08 November.
