This is an Outreach event primarily aimed at adult chemistry students at Thes Manchester College (City Labs.
The aim of this lecture is to explore 鈥榝ire鈥� and other exothermic reactions as interesting and relevant subjects that make sense, can be understood and that our scientific understanding must continually be tested against evidence. Human beings are capable of wonder and need to apply it in all its three dimensions.
With the exception of the 'hydrogen balloon' and 'burning steel wool' the other demonstrationd will be effected on the micro scale. (Maximum 20 ml gas)
