Introduction

The Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) has been in force in the European Union since June 2007. In vitro models are integral to REACH hazard assessments. The aim of this two day meeting is to bring together the regulatory and research communities with a focus on REACH legislation, current in vitro toxicology tests, and emerging in vitro tests and e strategies that may address current gaps in decision making in REACH assessment.
