The 2024 Major League Baseball season began on Thursday, March 29.

Our Cincinnati Reds kicked off the season by beating the Washington Nationals 8 to 2. Reds player Nick Martini had two home runs, and Reds pitcher Frankie Montas had six scoreless innings.

Spencer Steer lined an RBI double to right field that plated Jake Fraley in the bottom of the 3rd inning, which put the Reds up by four.

Washington Nationals center fielder Eddie Rosario鈥檚 two HRs were not enough to help losing pitcher Josia Gray.

The Cincinnati Reds honored former Reds players who had passed away before the game.

Summer Morgan, the granddaughter of late Reds player Joe Morgan, delivered the game ball with the help of Reds legend George Foster.

Summers鈥檚 mother, Lisa Morgan, was in attendance, and former Reds player Sean Casey threw out the first pitch.
